This is used to control network mode. The gateway host can switch all extenders into disabled state to save battery when there is no change in the network topology.
Mode will be 0 (Scan) by default from reset (for extender and root extender). Mode will change to default when an extender fails to reconnect its uplink.
It is impossible to alter scan-mode:
- When BLE GW has not been started
- When extender has not established uplink
In these states scan-mode is forced to default (0).
Scan
Scan enabled. Unconnected data is forwarded.
Scan Disabled Auto Reconnect
Scan disabled, but turn on scanning for a short duration when a device disconnects to let it reconnect. In this mode unconnected data is not forwarded.
Discovery
Same as Scan, but also discover:
- Secure devices in storage mode
- Secure devices from other networks
- Legacy devices
